Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA), is an induction program for beginning teachers in the state of California. The program is designed to support the professional development of newly-credentialed, beginning teachers and fulfill the requirements for the California Clear Multiple and Single Subjects Credentials.

Beginning teachers with a preliminary credential are expected to participate in a 2-year state approved induction program ideally during their first years as a contracted teacher in order to complete the state’s requirements to earn a professional clear credential.
